It’s an advertising blunder that dates again to 1984, while McDonald’s started out “If the U.S. wins, you win!” promoting underneath which they promised to give free burger, snack, and beverages for each medal US wins. but, they disregarded some things like Germany and Russia, two badass counties have been sitting out of the sports event, and that could boom the percentage of medals for US. That year, 178 medals with eighty three gold came home, after which McDonald’s found out that this advertising plan backfired, and did a massive economic damage to the company.
